Sine-faced son of a tangent.
(Edit: I cannot mention anybody in my community by name/rank/ontological acknowledgment, so I must censor those bits out.)
This was a good week, guys.
So, I'm working collaboratively with a kid who lives in Greece. He's not online, most of the time, so I have to get home from school as early as possible to meet him and discuss code. Just two problems. The first is that I live in Rochester, NY. This would be the place where it snows, on average, SEVEN OUT OF TWELVE MONTHS in the year! The second is that my bus has approximately a 10% chance of not showing up on time. Well, Monday was a bad day for it not to. It was a horrible blizzard outside, and --------------------- were telling a busload or two of kids to get inside. I didn't have time for that. I live about one mile from the school, and I've walked home before. I know the route. Problem was, about five feet away from being off of school property, the vice principal caught me. No big deal, walking home is fine, but ------------ does NOT like me. (A lot of people don't.) He called me to get back there. I ignored him, and walked home. What does he do?
He suspends me!
Yes, teenage programmers who walk home (and apologize afterwards, of their own accord, with a reasonable explanation as to why they left in the first place) apparently pose an immediate threat to the school, so I have to walk into school at eight in the morning, watch my parents and -------------------------------- yell at each other for half an hour, and leave right afterwards! ------------ told us he was concerned about my safety, but the other -------- who was walking home with me had on shorts! He didn't get a call, or in the least bit of trouble! Good news is, though, I finished my C# application. While on suspension.
(Like my new public censorship method? Trigonometric ratios!)
