FairPlay vs. PlaysForSure

Apple's FairPlay DRM was created to restrict copying and illegal pirating of iTunes songs. Microsoft's PlaysForSure, or Janus DRM, was created for much the same reason, although it is also used by subscription music services (such as Yahoo Music or Napster). I have to say, FairPlay is a lot more stable, and less easy to hack. Both are easily broken into, although FairPlay music has to be recorded from audio spaces in the RAM once it is dumped, and PFS can just be removed by stripping the DRM heading off of the file. FairPlay is like a general representation of Apple software, and, sometimes, hardware. Sort of blocked off, used specifically by them, and not really open to others for any reason. Of course, this is much more user-friendly. Advanced users may prefer PFS, despite the need to refresh your tracks after the license expires after a month or so. I personally prefer PFS, as it is much easier to strip off and convert to free MP3 for use on my Treo. Comments? Go ahead. Commenting should be fixed.

Heart and Seoul

That's the new name for my game. It'll take place in Seoul, South Korea (obviously), and you'll play a counter-terrorism squad that tries to save various hostages and prevent the overall destruction of Seoul. Look out for a release date in September!

Inertia is a Property of Matter

God, that phrase has been with me ever since we watched "Bill Nye the Science Guy" in science class. Anyways, to the point. I'm working on a .exe game for you all, and it's going to be fun. Like, the thrill you get when you finally break the guards neck in Splinter Cell after 25 QuickLoads fun. Or like, you just watched a Burger King commercial fun. Commenting is officially killed, so just find a different way to tell me what kind of game I should make. You all are smart. I'm sure you can figure something out.

Update on Me

Okay, let me catch you up on the past month or so of my life, seeing as that I haven't posted in awhile. I got a job, bought an Xbox 360, played the Xbox 360, learned some new programming techniques, played my Xbox, looked for a 1GB flash drive, and played my Xbox. Let's go into some more detail, though. My 7th grade year is coming to a close, and I don't have a whole lot to show for it, minus science and math classes. I can't say that, out of those two classes, I really LEARNED anything I didn't know, and even in those two, not a whole lot more than I do. I write up LSL2 programs for email and script update servers in homeroom, I watch animated movies in chorus, I nearly fall asleep in Social Studies watching static filled VHS copies of "The Long Walk Home", starring the oh-so-interesting actress Whoopi Goldberg, I go to science and learn about ecosystems (yeah, we've already sped by teaching what I didn't know right into teaching what I do), head to my lunch for a half-hour or so, then go to ELA to read books by Julius Lester (I swear, if I have to read one more book on slavery or civil rights, I will snap. I get that it was a big chunk of history, but 30 weeks of school big? I think that the school board feels a bit TOO bad about slavery.), head to math to speed back to 5th grade probabilities after learning one thing out of one book in the year, and then go to Spanish. Really, I find that Spanish is my only class that I DON'T dread going to. Honestly, I learn more out of playing Second Life than at school.
